Designing for The Flower Stand at Kendall Farms has to be one of the most amazing projects that I get to be part of. Yes - I am a Kendall family member, but every time I step foot on the farm, there is something that transcends over me and I feel inspired by the land, the smells of the cooler, the culture and the people that work there. With any business or company, sometimes things get crazy and hectic, yet- when I’m here, all I have to do is take a short walk and breath deep and things settle and all becomes just that much clearer as to why I’m so fortunate to do what I do.
Since the launch of The Flower Stand, we have had some great opportunities to show case our bouquets but when Rachael Ray called it was very exciting!!! This was something very special for their Valentine’s Day segment. These flowers were going to be given to Rachael Ray by her husband John, and I wanted to be sure it was something she would love. I immediately started researching previous set designs from the show, her photos and what just her energy is like when she is on the show. Instead of traditional dark reds and pinks, which are so popular at Valentine’s Day - I went a different route for Rachel. I used a huge Banksia and dressed it with corals and yellows and touches of blue green eucalyptus...bright and beautiful!!
It is such a pleasure to be able to work with flowers and combine colors and textures and create a special floral bouquet that beautifully mirrored Rachael’s personality.
I’m pretty sure Rachael Ray was happy and I am sure her audience was too because they all got a bouquet too!!!!
