Something about summer brings endless possibilities of inspiration and this summer has been exactly that….so many heartwarming moments of true INPSIRATION.
Which brings me to the question of what truly inspires a person? For everyone it is something a bit different but for some of us it feels like it’s a constant. Traveling has always been a very important part of my life and I am so grateful to say that this summer of travel did not disappoint. And indeed brought a plethora of inspiration that helped “reset” my core and inspired me even more for the months to come!
Getting the chance to travel with some of my dearest friends and no kids is a rare event. And I can honestly say that I had a trip of a lifetime. These girls have known me since college and were up for some serious fun and inspiration! It wasn't just about the food and wine, the museums and all of the impeccably-dressed individuals on the street… there was something in the air.
Late June can bring heat, yet we had a modest 70 degrees every day and felt like we floated through the city. The colors of the buildings, the Parisian architecture and the beautiful shops were so enchanting…It was as if I was in a dream state. Then, add in the gorgeous flower shops, perfumeries and of course the beauty of the people and your brain feels like it’s on steroids. The Parisians just have a swagger all their own! They were delightful and lovely! They embraced us American women with open arms and shared their beautiful city with us.
My time in Paris was such an important reminder to hone in on the moments in life we so often can miss, to look around and soak in our surroundings and to search within for inspiration.
Beautiful water, every shade of green you can imagine with white sand was the perfect backdrop for everything. But that was just the beginning!!! This was a trip with family and fabulous friends that had the incredible opportunity to experience Belize together for the first time.
The Creo talk mixed with Spanish and English was fantastic! But the best part of Belize was the easy laid back feeling everywhere you went. There is no rush - just time, lots of it to enjoy and immerse yourself in all the elements.
Sometimes the soul just needs to rest and listen to the natural surroundings to get inspired and filled up. Moments of pure rest and relaxation. Nothing pressing or urgent just the gift of being present.
It is a fabulous treat to travel with youngsters who are seeing ocean animals, palapas, and coconut trees for the first time! Being with good friends and making memories creates the kind of inspiration that keeps giving back even when you have left such a special place.
WISCONSIN AND NEW HAMPSHIRE
While vacationing in New Hampshire, one afternoon my cousin and I decided to take a drive through the back roads. We were on the hunt for the grocery store and he knew exactly what direction we should go.
As we barreled down the dirt road we came upon a beautiful property. From the charcoal barn and the vintage cherry red truck it was almost too much to taken in. The scene was set, the barn was photoshoot ready and I was INSPIRED! You couldn’t miss the flowers and the dark green lawn that were standing front and center. All I wanted to do was knock on the front door and find out who had such vision to create this classically charming space! But I restrained myself and just snuck a few photos for inspiration instead!
Seriously, it was the best drive by ever to find such a special space. It reminded me that inspiration is not just with what our eyes see but in the journey to get there as well.
Bon voyage summer … until we meet again.
