Every now and then I get to style a photo shoot. This one was especially unique because it included feathers and chickens (they were the photographers’ pets so no chickens were harmed while shooting)! The vision was “French Avant Garde Meets Chickens.” I knew that getting the right pieces together for the photographer was very important so we reviewed the looks and shots and it came together beautifully.
A lot of details go into a photo shoot and it takes time. I have to make sure the clothing is on point, knowing that every little detail gets picked up on film. So, I analyze it all and in every direction before we even begin shooting. This saves everyone time and the less editing for the photographer, always a plus.
Whenver possible ... "vision meetings" are key! They give you the ability to strategize and prepare in advance and the opportunity to create a special shoot piece. Because there were feathers involved I decided, why not try and make a headpiece for the model? It took some late night crafting but it turned out beautifully and Nicole our fabulous model rocked it! The DVF dress she wearing is pretty fabulous too!!!
