The Phillips house is one of those homes where you just want to kick your shoes off and grab a drink and chill (which I have had the pleasure of doing many times). It’s a bustling home of six in constant motion (3 young boys plus the little cutie on the chair, Frodo). The blend of beautiful, inherited antique pieces with some fresh new items truly match the personality of this young family. Fresh flowers and stacked books add charm and some flavor!
The dining table was designed and crafted by the owners. Restoration Hardware chairs nicely finish off the look. Living close to the ocean calls for some touches including local shells, candles, and a fabulous linen from Parker and Clay… and becomes the perfect spot for family dinners and homework evenings.
The sideboard table is also a handcrafted mission style piece from the owners. Fantastic art, a catch tray for keys, and some fun pops of color finish it off. I enjoy taking what the client already owns and styling it to feel updated. Most everyone has a few pieces that they love and want to incorporate into the new design. Up-cycling is a great way to enhance your home without breaking the budget.
The fireplace came with the home and its wood mantel is a showstopper. For now, a little accessorizing to enhance its better qualities is all the attention it needs! Keep checking back in, because there are some changes coming soon for this mighty fireplace!
